| | | Dark Shadows-anyone here a fan?
I remember coming home from school as a kid and seeing the Bloodsucker of the Afternoon Soaps, Barnabas Collins, menacing some hapless girl. Anyone here Barnabas fans? Anyone speculate as to what clan, if any, he'd belong to? |

| | He means it was a 'gothic" soap opera, whose hero was a vampire.  Dark Shadows ran when I was a teen, and I watched some of it, mainly for the cheesy acting and the truly horrendous sets that would wobble from time to time. The writing was terrible, but because it all involved doomed romances and the like, it was very popular. Wouldn't call me a fan.  My wife was, for a while, though.
Kind of ironic, given my religious preferences, but these things happen.

As it was very popular, I'm sure there are a few people who have put up tributes to it. But that's only if you want to. To me, the only acceptable soap opera was the SCTV satire done about 20 years ago, Days of the Week, starring John Candy. Hysterical stuff.

| | Wow, memories...had forgot all about this show, but like Fable I remember coming home from school and watching it on TV. Yes it was hokey and props were a laugh,  but it was different for the time period.
