Portal is good, mind you. It's just that even if you get the hang of it, there are certain levels which veers more on trial and error than using your brain to figure out how things work. Frankly, I really detest trial and error methods to solve things (Grand Theft Auto series comes to mind as a perfect example).

Pharoah was excellent for its time. There was also a Cleopatra expansion. More recently there was a re-hash of the game called Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile which wasn't bad.

I've got back into KOTOR for the Xbox (which I'm playing on the 360), Mass Effect revived my interest.

I've been playing TF2 on and off ever since beta was first released but most recently I've been playing Morrowind. My bud sent me a 10 day guest pass for Red Orchestra on steam so I got tied up playing that too. Only got 20 hours left before I can't play it anymore though . Its pretty cheap so I might end up buying it maybe.

Loved the Pharoah/Cleo game, have it installed but haven't played in awhile..
right now dividing my time between Mass Effect, Gears of War and Assassin's Creed..Xbox
Mario Galaxy on the Wii
and of course my old standby...modded Morrowind...on PC..
and cannot wait till the son-in-law gets his present from me, Call of Duty 4, I plan on hijacking it from him...
at least for a little while...

Everything seems to be 360 for me at the moment which is surprising as I tend to play the PC more generally. I just got Kane and Lynch along with Call of Duty 4, was still playing Mass Effect and Assassing Creed and MAss Effect prompted me to start playing KOTOR again which is 360 friendly. Playing KOTOR also prompted me to watch my Star Wars collection from Episode I - VI.

On the PC I'm still on LOTRO as well as MTW2, HOI2 (was back into SWG for a little bit but it keeps crashing on me) and I just started the beta of a new strategy game so that is taking my time up now.

I have tried Call of Duty 4.
And it turned out to be total **** unfortunately. Never have played such a stupid, scripted game.
One step awy from the sripted way and you get mysteriously shot by an enemy (who was not/could not be there), grenade-killed (frequency and accuracy of grenade throwing is really ridiculous). You empty half a clip into an enemy who then as soon as you turn away shoots you in the back with his pistol

I know its a mainstream game mostly for children but...
I do not understand how this could be such a popular title. Its not neither challenging nor whatever else. No choice left for a player. Superenemies with superaim coming your direction in endless waves no matter what.

Ohhhmmm...I shall install Neverwinter nights

At least that is a lot better than cheap tricks such as giving a certain enemy invulnerability just because it is part of the story for you to end up incapacitated by him and the fact that no matter how careful you are in shooting every dead person, that body you shot before suddenly rises up and blows himself up with a grenade, injuring you as a result.

Not to mention that if you shoot an enemy, he goes down but is still moving, just shoot it again. The one good thing I've learned from Call of Duty 1 & 2 is to shoot them, even though they're down, to ensure that they're really dead.

I like the Call of Duty series, with the exception of 3, but I don't think it plays like a kids game. I'm 22 years old but I still find them fun. In fact, I prefer them to other shooters where certain weapons are purposefully underpowered to force you to use several other weapons. Not to mention that there is a sense of realism where you can only carry 2 weapons instead of 8.

Anyway, I'm re-playing Half Life 2 and currently playing Call of Duty 4.

Hmm don't know about that. The tutorial mission is a training mission to gauge what level you should play on. I always play my games on normal level and it took me about ten attempts at beating the clock to get the option to play on normal Not everyone has lightning quick reactions! I couldn't accept having to play the game on easy so kept retaking the mission until i got a good enough time to play on normal.

I enjoyed Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2 (not so much with call of duty 3) nd they are the best WWII shooters I've played. I'm 37 but don't really consider myself a child Not all the time at least....

Psychonauts is a brilliant game. Good choice.

Agreed. Not to mention that it came from the same guy who created the Monkey Island series, Tim Schafer. Gosh, I miss those old Lucasarts adventure games. Why did Lucasarts abandoned adventure games for Star Wars games?

Not that I know of. Sorry. That game is almost non-existent in physical stores.

It wasn't all bad at least. BioWare did all the hard work and Lucasarts enjoyed all the money...
