Privateer 2 on WinXP

I'm trying to run Privateer 2 on Windows XP, but this DOS-program doesn't work.

Whats the problem other then it doesn't work

Try looking at this site, maybe it can give some pointers to what to do, but not all DOS games can run under XP:

I get it starting, but then there's a cd problem: if I put cd 1 in drive D (DVD-writer) it says:
"Privateer 2 Fatal Error - cdromread - READ STATUS ERROR=ffff8103"
then a lot of ones and zero's and then
"Wonga = 13500 Creds".
If I put it in drive E (DVD) it says "insert cd 1".

Looked around and others have the same problem it seems.

Try taking a look at this site:

Let me know if this works - I've got the old DOS P2 also, and am interested if you get it running

It works. Note from me: if the Booth menu goes very slow, installing the slowdown patch helps.
