| | | Looking for help with the original Metal Gear Solid (caution: MAJOR SPOILERS WITHIN) So I got this game for Christmas. I loved the demo for the game back in the day. Love the game itself, but I've gotten a bit stuck.
Okay, so I found out a while back that - like MGS3 - that you get different items to use in a new game after beating the game via certain actions - in this case, the torture room.
I'm kinda stuck at that part because I'm hoping to make sure that Solid Snake survives all 3 tortures, but he always seems to die at the third torture, despite my fastest button-mashing efforts.
Anyone have a suggested method of surviving the third torture besides getting a turbo-button controller? I'm mostly hoping to see the "good ending."

I was able to survive all three rounds. That's the only way I know of. Sorry that I can't be of much help.

If I recall correctly, in every session, after the electrocution stopped, you have to keep pressing the 'circle' button (or 'Spacebar' on the PC) continuously to recover as much health as possible before they cut to the next session.
For me, I managed to recover to full health after the first session, somewhere around half or slightly more after the second and the final one just barely 1/4 of health. Just remember to recover as much as possible after the electrocution stopped during the second session as the third one is very punishing.
Hope this helps.

Hope this helps. | Yeah, I do the whole "post-electrocution tapping" thing. The thing is, IIRC, these are the percentages Snake ends up at:
1st: 75%
2nd 59%
