Looking for an oldie PC game title

Back in 1994-1995 or sometime around then I had (more accurately 'won') a subscription to a gaming magazine. I didn't have a console at the time or a PC, but reading about games was just totally my thing. There were several games in that magazine that I still know by title, like the original System Shock, Daytona USA (for the SEGA) and Beneath A Steel Sky. That should pinpoint the date of the other game I'm looking for to post 1994-1995, as the game magazines of that time weren't always as on top of things as they are now.

This is all just from memory, but from the screenshots it appeared to be a kind of cyberpunk point & click adventure, with some combat elements. At the beginning of the game the player would wake up after some kind of invasive cybernetic surgery, the result being the walking equivalent of a (brown?) forklifter (more invasive than System Shock and definetly not as handsome as robocop). I also remember a fairly cool looking screenshot of the player fighting some kind of cybernetically enhanced velociraptor. There was also something about the main character being very enraged about whoever or whatever did the surgery on him and that he had to save someone from a certain (similar?) fate.

The thing is, and this is what makes my search interesting, I seem to remember that its title was a bit similar to 'System Shock'. Except it had 'Bio' as a prefix, indicating a prevalent theme in the game. Bioshock? It can't be..

I did a search at a game site and found a few matches, though I'm not sure if any of the titles listed ring a bell. Hope this helped.

Try searchhing The Home of the Underdogs, or MobyGames. Both have an extensive database of games in different genres with lengthy descriptions of most.

Bioforge, of course. Well.. thanks, that was fun. I still wonder what would have happened if it turned out they didn't own the name. It happened to Unreal a couple of years ago. It turned out there was this much older Atari game that had the same name. It was probably too old to make a case in court, but it was interesting to see how it got a little media attention nonetheless.
