I just picked Socom FTB up and its great! The online with up to 16 players if great too but i really like the single player campaign. I love the fact that by playign through FTB's single player i am unlocking things for Socom 3. Anyoen else have Socom FTB?

I have it and so far am having a blast with it. I actually completed all the compaigns on the commander setting and getting ready to start on admiral.I love how you can go inline and play. The AI is pretty good in this game unlike some others i have played.

I just got this game and id brought my psp back to life. I am always playing online with socom ftb and the online play is so much fun with 16 people playing online at once.

Isn't Fireteam Bravo PSP *only*?

I have this on rental right now, as I'm not big into online gaming. I had also done the beta and thought it was pretty decent. The single player is better than I expected, as the game seems to fit itself pretty well around the PSP's inherently crappy FPS controls ...

I have no console, so I *love* seeing reminders of how I've just unlocked some PS2 content ...

txa, the ontrolls are not that bad, even with one analog stick the game is easy to controll. If you want to talk about a game with bad controll then talk about coded arms. And even is socom ftb you can change the controll so you can mode with the analog and look with the other buttons and shoot with the trigger buttons.

That is why I said "better than I expected, as the game seems to fit itself pretty well around the PSP's inherently crappy FPS controls"

The other FPS - *real* FPS, with loads of enemies and fast paced action - like Star Wars BF2, Coded Arms, Ghost in the Shell, are all pretty lousy because of the controls.

SOCOM rises above that largely because of the pacing, because if you get yourself into a 2-on-1 or worse situation, you'll be fighting the target lock and aim pretty badly trying to stay alive.

But that is comparative - all alone I do recommend SOCOM as the best shooter to date on the PSP.

Cool. I'm glad I stumbled on this thread. I just got a PSP for xmas and I'm looking to expand my game library now that I got my financial aid check for school. Who needs books?~ So you say it's the best FPS on the PSP, eh? I have Socom 3 on PS2, so I really wouldn't mind unlocking extras. I know that the campaigns in Fireteam Bravo and Socom 3 are related and happen in the same time frame. I've been leaning towards getting this game next and after reading these posts I'm more confident that it's the right choice. Thanks.

It is absolutely the best FPS on PSP ... I got Ghost in the Shell for really cheap recently and can confirm that is crap.

But being the best FPS doesn't make it the best game ... it is pretty good, probably one of the better games, but games like GTA are better. But if it is a FPS - especially one with strong multiplayer - it is a good choice.
