I usually don't trust these types of sites when it comes to determining whether my computer can run a certain game or not. As for HoMM V, oddly enough, I was able to run it on my desktop without any lagg. Probably think that the game wasn't designed with laptop compatibility in mind. Just guessing, though.
How would a laptop differ from a PC when it comes to running games?

For one thing, the architecture of a laptop is different from an ordinary PC. The processor, the RAM and the components are not the same as that of the PC. And not to mention that quite a number of games I noticed come with a notice in the system requirements that states: "Laptops are not supported".

I see. So, are there games which are only playable on a laptop then?

Well, it doesn't mean that they can't be played on the laptop. You can play them, but don't expect them to play smoothly. So far, I've heard of one game that is designed specially for the laptop and that's the Sims Life Stories (more like a stripped down version of the Sims 2).

I actually like the Sims (and it's sequel too ) but no way I'm buying some stripped down game if I have a laptop.

And great games they are!!

I have a very basic laptop which we bought when we were going on Holiday to Tunisia a year ago. Decided to get it to play DVD's so we could watch a few movies at night and it worked a dream although it's only a Celeron 2ghz so doesn't play too much in the way of games (well). It certainly played Babylon 5 well enough though

Orange Box, I agree, but not Bioshock. Not only is it a power hungry game, but I find that game pretty mediocre overall.

Don't bother if I were you. Not worth it if you ask me.

Well, that's good to hear, as I'm currently rather occupied by Arx Fatalis...
And couple of other games as well, like Hellgate: London
