When you roll in your threat range you have a possibility of getting a critical hit...but only a possibility. Next you have to make a hit on your confirmation roll (not a 20 just a hit). Thats why you see more criticals on low ac opponents.

The deal with power critical is it adds +5 I think to that second roll.

Someone (very knowledgeable) told me that it adds about a 1% chance to get a critical for every threat range of your critical. So a weapon master with a scimitar it is decent but with no keen or improved critical and a low threat weapon of course it is pretty useless and you should probably take great fortitude or something like that instead (maybe knockdown eg).

I don't completely understand. Do you mean that a power critical would add Attack Bonus to your attack if you get a critical, thus increasing the chance of critical?

Yes it doesn't add any bonus to your attack roll, but it does add a bonus to the second roll which is the roll to see if the critical is 'confirmed'.

To get a critical:

1) Hit (no bonus from power critical)
2) In threat range (no bonus from power critical but yes a bonus for improved crit)
3) Roll a successful confirmation roll (power crit DOES help that one)

While I think i get it, your explanations are ridiculous, they are extremely technical and I don't understand what they refer to most of the time...
