| | | Does your computer meet the minimum system requirements? Did you try turning down the graphics options?

| | Exactly - post your specs. I am running the following:
Athlon XP2000
512 meg ram
ATI 9600XT video
I can run the game at 1024x768 with high quality textures but there are slowdowns and its not optimal. At 800x600 things run smoothly but the overall look of the game suffers.
To really run this one right I would recommend at least a P4 3.0ghz or Athlon 64 3000+ processor with 1 gig of Ram and a 6600GT or X800 or better video card. I will be upgrading soon and for now I will just live with the 800x600 resolution

| | | If you click on the start menu and go to "settings" then "control panel" then "system" the first page will display your processor type and speed as well as the amount of RAM you have installed.
If you right click on your desktop and go to "properties" then "settings" the name and model of your grapics card will be displayed.
If your system meets minimum requirements you can start the game and go go to display settings and lower the resolution to the minimum (800x600) and see if that helps.
Other things to look for:
- Make sure you are not running any other programs - shut down all background applications before launching the game
- Have you defragged your hard drive lately?
- Do you run a virus and spyware remover regularly?

| | | Best thing I can suggest right now is to post your system specifications. Meaning, post your Processor Speed, your Memory, and your Graphics card specs.
To do this, hit start >>> Run and type in DxDiag. Under the system tab, type everything you see in the "Processor" and "Memory" fields.
Then go over to the display tab and also post the Name of your card and the approx. total memory of it. |

| You have a 1.8 and at best, a 2.2 Ghz processor, it requires a 2.4 and recommends 3.0 ghz. You also do not have the required video card, as the earliest supported is X300, X200 being lower than that will not work well at all with it. |

| | Not to mention that is a laptop right? You have to shell out some big bucks to get a laptop with an equivalent current generation video card.
Dell/HP and others are now making laptops that approach desktop gaming performance levels - but you are going to pay for it. For the most parts laptops are built for business or school applications, not for gaming (unless you bring a wheelbarrow full of cash) Quote: |

| If this is a laptop chances are that the graphics are integrated. If graphics are integrated then unfortunately the answer is no...

| | | ATI x200 is allways integrated....
I wouldn't even try to play that game on a laptop that isn't of the latest generation and has a decent video card and at least 1 Gyte of RAM.
Sorry to tell you this RosemaryB, but your system is to slow to play the game, that's the price you pay for having a portable computer, usually not much of a hardware interior.

| | I've got a pretty new laptop myself and the game runs but very slow as well. Runs great on my gaming desktop though, too bad I travel alot..
I will probably price out some stuff for my laptop but at $1200 with top of the line stuff 10 months ago, it's pretty bad with this game and would not open Oblivion. |

| | | Reducing the texture quality and other graphicals options (in the advanced graphics section) might help out. This game puts a big load on the graphics card.
