You don't need a new PC, you just need a new video card. I think your processor speed is actually faster than mine to be honest, I just bought a very nice video card sunday so I could run this game. I need to send in my rebate too before it goes bad. Must make mental note.

Don't hurry out to buy new PC gear

If I were you, I would not do anything to address the performance problem with the game until a patch is released for the game specificlally to address performance.

There are folks with screaming fast game rigs that are having the exact same issues as mentioned here, and there is an obvious problem with the game engine somewhere that will need to be addressed. You may find that the game plays adequately well on existing hardware once the performance issues are cleared up.

It seems that there is a problem with the game's engine interface into various hardware drivers so that some folks seem to play ok while others cannot effectively play the game no matter what they do with the settings. It will be sorted out soon though I am betting.

I personally have a nice running PC that plays NWN2 very well as far as graphics go but the sound is all kinds of screwed up - voice over dialogue gets dragged out to about 3-10 times as slow as it should be so I cant stand the voice acting scenes. At the same time that is happening though, the FPS display will show 35-50 FPS. So the game is running great but the game engine isnt talking to the sound card correctly at all.

The sound part may actually be what is causing the FPS issues for others as well for all I know, but I am sure they will have some updates to address it very soon.
