NW9 and Shadow Thief Prestige Classes

Having finished Mask of the Betrayer, I have noticed that it is impossible for a newly created character in the expansion to gain class levels in either NW9 or Shadow Thief of Amn prestige classes because that character will lack the requiste history feat. Is there any other way, short of cheating, to become one of the aforementioned classes?

I don't really want to have to run through the OC again, having finished it multiple times.

I don't see any other way to get the pethifit feats required for them other than running through the OC or using the console to unlock the feats.

After all, in the beginning of the expansion, are you not 'technically' building the character according to your preferences? ..Regaurdless it be with or without the console. Unless there's a posted alternative (for the expansion), I don't see it as 'cheating' to get into a certain PrC that can't be obtained by any other means. But tweeking the attributes, getting items you don't have, or anything else besides what was initially intended for is 'cheating' yes.

I have a module I downloaded where you start in a room with four alignment levers some levers that give or remove experience. The next room over has golems that craft items for you and another room has scrolls. You can also test the character against monster challenges and custom character challenges.

So you could build a level 18 (or 20) character and export the character? Then maybe it would be playable in MOtB I think.

Anyhow its worth a try. I forget where I found that program. It was developed by Mithdradrates on the Bioware Builders guild forum.

Thanks for the responses.

Though in MotB you can more or less do what your program does by using DebugMode 1. So, I guess that there really isn't a way to become one of those prestige classes without using cheats if you are creating a new character from scratch.

Well, I wouldn't really see it as cheating. It's just a means to get a feat to access a class that you would have obtained had you run through the OC. It's akin to keying the "cheat" to trigger a script that never fired properly.

Neither would I, but as there seems to be a lack of a better term, cheating will just have to do for now.
