Need help, cant get codes/cheats to work on gold edition!

I have NEVERWINTER NIGHTS 2 GOLD, I cant get any of the codes/cheats to
work, the place to enter the codes I got open with DebugMode 1, but every
code I enter it rejects saying its invalid, I have tried lots of different codes found online at sites, none work. I want to use the codes for singleplayer use
only. I have tried to find info. online as to why the codes are not working but have had no success, when the ~ is pressed and the area is open to type in codes the game screen is completely frozen all I can do is enter codes,- my mouse pointer works but clicking on anythng does nothing-the only action I can do is enter codes, pressing~ again removes the code insertion area and restores full game controll to me. I dont know if thats normal.
I have both NWN2 and NWN-MOTB installed, both are fully patched to the very latest patch available.
please if any one can help me or provide info. on useing codes on the NWN GOLD I would greatly apreciate it, I have tried everything I can think of and tried entering them different ways.

IIRC, the command console is supposed to take over the screen. You're not supposed to be able to play the game with it open.

Did "DebugMode 1" work?

For some versions of the game, the codes are case sensitive, so make sure you're typing them exactly as you see them.

YES, the DebugMode 1 worked- but no other codes will! I tried typeing them
exactly as they were writen, when that didnt work I tried typeing/writing them other ways, I cant think of anything I havent tried.

Most of the codes require a target.

Simply target your character (or whomever), then re-try the code.

Set<stat> codes are like this, btw...
