MotB: officially stumped ( may contain spoilers )

Okay, I think I've encountered a game-stopping bug. Game's fully patched, no custom content ( aside from a few pieces of equipment made in the toolset ).

I am currently in the Academy of Thay and I cannot enter two rooms... simply because the doors are black holes. One of the rooms is upstairs in the Headmistress' tower, the other is where the stairs are leading into the basement.

I've reloaded from an earlier save, changed the leading character, left the area, rested, looked at it from about 5 gazillion different angles, quit the game, restarted the game... nothing. Black holes. Which means I can't continue. Sigh. Anyone have any ideas?

*Edit: changed title to make sure it turns up in searches.

I've heard of this problem. Supposedly, if you use the keyboard to move your character into the doorway, the room beyond it will appear.
