Importing custom armor into MotB

I played MotB at a friend's house before I got my own copy. I've updated to the newest version. The thing I'm having trouble with is the fact that apparently, I cannot import custom armor into MotB anymore. I know weapons disappear, but when I played the game before, armor didn't. What bugs me is that everything else 'wearable' I give that character - a ring, gloves and boots - stay with her; just the armor doesn't. Anyone have any idea why? Did they remove that in the latest patch?

try importing it without the character wearing it (if this doesn't apply to you, ignore it)

Firstly, hello again Ningengirai. It's been sometime since I've seen you in these forums. Thought that MotB might bring back a couple dormant members.

Well, maybe your custom armor has some properties which are no longer recognized in MotB, hence them dissapearing. I know that this is unlikely and the most probable explanation is a bug, so the only other solution I can recommend you is to remake that armor. Don't think it'll take that long, would it?

*waves*

The problem seems to have spontaneously fixed itself after a couple ( about 5 ) reloads. I have no idea why. Apparently, using blueprints without unique tags affects how armor is carried over into MotB; I'm going to start assigning unique tags to my own creations from now on.

Is it possible this script, when checking for 'wearing no armor' checks any AC bonus bestowed? Sounds like the people seeing this issue go in wearing 'armor' that doesn't grant an AC bonus, so perhaps that's why it's pulling that armor.

It just checks the Chest slot to see if anything is there. If there's nothing, you get armor appropriate for your class. If your custom armor happens to share the same tag as any of the starter armors, it will be deleted and replaced.

Thanks. Makes sense, somewhat - I rebuild my armor starting from one of the robes and that one works like a charm.

If it'll make you feel any better, I too rebuilt a whole new set of items for the MotB expansion. But that was because I had nothing else better to do.

Most if the tags I use are pretty unique and are not likely to coincide with any other game tags.
