Commander Tann (possible bug?)

MINOR SPOILERS

Hi. I've got a problem with this Commander Tann, perhaps it's a bug, but it's quite annoying. I've the game patched with the 1.02 version.
Well, I told him to wait until I saved his companions. I have found the three of them, and when I go back to talk to him, he doesn't follow me, he just stays at the corner anda says that we have to return to the fort. I thought, 'well, perhaps he doesn't follow me and he does go directly to the fort', but when I reach the fort and I try to talk to Vallis, he is completely silent, he doesn't say anything, and Tann is not there, nor the soldiers I saved in the cemetery.
I don't think I have done anything wrong... is it a bug? is it possible to fix it? I suppose I can continue the game without saving Tann, but at the moment I would like to get those experience points...
Thanks

Is he supposed to join my party? I've tried different ways of apporaching him, but nothing works. Whatever I do, he stays there.

It is intended that Tann joins you in the search for his missing men, or at least that is how it is for me, so sounds like a bug with a trigger which doesn't get updated correctly. Unfortunally - I only know of searching through the toolset for the possible script, forcing it to run ... or trying a reload.

Probably a scripting bug. I always just have him tag along to use him as an idiotic decoy when fighting. He does get irritating when I try to pick locks to get my treasure though. I make him wait in the corner until I'm done.

Hummm... I've tried reloading, I have even tried starting again the game from the beginning, but no way... I'm playing the Spanish edition, perhaps it's a bug that only appears there. I will try a bit more, but I think I will just continue without Tann.
BTW, If I don't save Tann, I don't kill Vallis, etc... is this important for the full enjoyment of the game? Can I continue playing? Consider that this is the first time I play, I haven't even reached Highcliff.
Thanks!

I have no clue to be honest, but you aren't very far into the game. If you feel it is worthwhile to get the extra 600 xp or so overall, then by all means, restart. You've only gone through I believe 4 areas so far? Swamp Cave, Swamp Ruins, Cemetary, possibly Bandit Camp, and then the Inn/West Harbor and Fort Locke obviously.

You could also do a search on Commander Tann. I'm pretty sure there's a thread here where somebody lists the console commands to force Tann to follow you.

So, I've done a search on Tann and that's what I've found out. The problem is clearly a bug, and it seems it hasn't been fixed with the second version of the patch, even if it's a very obvious bug. More people has had the same problem, Tann doesn't join the party and so on...

There's a solution, it's not a total solution, but it helps. I'll write it here so everybody can read it.

- When you defeat the dark priest and his minions, talk to Commander Tann. He won't join yor party, but he will talk to you and tell you about his lost companions.

- Open the console by hitting `

- Write EXACTLY DebugMode 1 and press enter

- Write partyadd 5982 (where 5982 is the creature code for Commander Tann).

- Write DebugMode 0 and press enter, then press again ` to close the console. Commander Tann will have joined your party, but he won't follow you. It doesn't matter, because when you talk to his companions, he will talk to them as well, even if he's not really there. When you find the three of them, he will follow you, but you won't be able to use him either. He is a bit annoying, because he runs a lot and he attacks everything he sees.

- Leave the graveyard. When you arrive to the fort, you will be encountered by Vallis and two soldiers. Defeat them. Tann will then run to the fort. This is the moment for him to leave your party. You have to do again what you did with the console, but write partyremove instead of partyadd. Once you have done all this, you will receive experience points and some gold. Tann is again the commander of the fort.

You can check this link as well, but beware, it's full of spoilers:
Neverwinter Nights: Commander Tann - The Slacker

I was really enjoying the game, but this bug has spoiled a bit that feeling. I just hope I don't find more things like this in the game.
Thanks a lot for your help guys
