Using Henchman

Having played Fallout, I'm familiar with this particular system, i.e having a npc which u can't control. But in Fallout, u were able to alter their inventory, by giving them ammo, medkits etc. Is it possible to do that in NWN, because I no how to look at their character sheets, but I need more, having got accustomed to BG and P:T. Also is there a way for me to customise their spells and such?

I already asked that question on this forum once, and u cant actually give them stuff(armour, weapons), and u cant look at their inventory either(u can give them healing potions that they will drink up instantly though), hopefully in bioware patch they'll let u look at their inventory.
