Spell casting system

Hey guys, I was hoping maybe someone could help me out. I only just started playing, but I really don't like the way you cast spells. For instance, you press F1 to ready a fireball, then left clicking will make you cast it. But once you've done that, it just goes back to normal attack/use. This is really annoying because I don't like having to pause all the time and it makes my hands too busy.

So anyway, I was wondering if there was a mod or something that would keep a selected spell or ability active until you changed it, or some other solution? Also, is there a way to make custom spells?

edit: Also, I downloaded a BG2 GUI, but I can't get it to work. Could someone help me with that too?

I'm playing a wizard character and the spells that she uses can only be cast "once per day" aka "once per rest period". So in order to cast the spell again, she (and her party) has to rest which is done by pressing the "r" key. There's no way to keep a spell "active" that I know of. You click on it and then click on the spell's intended target and let 'er rip.

I use "Pause" all the time to create minature chains of spells and to tell my party to stand their ground so I can pull all of a room's yard trash out to a nearby "killing ground" before we take on the boss monster. Pausing is good so you can target your spells more accurately.

I don't know of any macros for what you want, but some of the other forum folks might know.
