| | | Rolgan's Trial (spoiler) I can't seem to get a unanimous innocent verdict in the trial in chapter 3. I know a few people have posted solutions but I can't seem to get Edegar (the Tyr acolyte) to raise his torch.
Here's what I have:
Stats: 19 int, 16 wis (boosted using potions and wisdom amulet)
First witness:
Did you see who started fight?
Did victim spike drink?
[Insight] Did victim spike drink in hopes of killing accused?
What is victim's feelings towards Uthgardt?
Second witness:
Did you see who started fight
DId victim spike drink?
Victim's wife:
Why did you send accused to see victim?
Accused: not called
Closing:
Accused was drugged by victim
Victim was a violent man who hated Uthgardts
Result:
All but acolyte holds torch. Acolyte holds nothing.
Is it possible that joking about a bribe with the acolyte changed his decision? Suggestions?
Thanks. |

| | | Holding nothing? That doesn't sound right to me. If I remember, they must either have the torch or sword. Is the game fully patched?

| | | I think they hold nothing if their unsure of their verdict.
Stick to the arguements about Rolgan having his drink spiked and the value of the artifacts.
Have you bought the bloke in the pub a drink or healed the wounded guy in the barracks? They become more helpful if you do.
You shouldn't need to bribe anyone to get a unanimous verdict.
Keep at it. It's worth doing for the experience you get. |

| | | Actually, I'm glad someone brought this subject up, cuz I'm at the same point in the game. I hadnt thought of potioning up my Int and Wis, so that's a good idea. But I'm having a different problem. I cant find the barracks. Two of the wittness/jurors are supposed to be there, but I have no idea where it is. Embarassing.
Also, only 3 torches are needed to get a not guilty verdict, so is there something special to be gained by getting a unanimous verdict?

| | You get a bonus for having a unaminous not-guilty decision. Potions of Wisdom and Intelligence are useful, though I only actually used Wisdom (with my Paladin PC) to get a unaminous decision.

| | Yeah, no torch/sword signifies an undecided vote. The barracks is the building directly east of the temple of Tyr. I'm pretty sure wisdom is all you need to get insight, but I was just making sure so i don't miss anything (it would be interesting if someone tried to go through the trial with <9 intelligence and high wis ). I'm going to try again with mentioning the value of the artifacts. I've done it before but it seems to have a bad effect, but it just might get that acolyte to change his vote, since he is religious, tho it might just make it worse since he things Uthgardt are pagan scums.
Anyways, thanks for the response!! |

| | | Bah, I know what the problem is now. I was wondering if my attempt to bribe the acolyte might be a factor in the case so I started a new game from Chapter three using my character which I exported. While I was requestioning the witnesses I found that if I heal the guy in the barrack with the broken leg first, before I talk to the witness in the bar, I can get another piece of information about Griff cheating. If you talk to the guy in the bar first though, and get him to tell you about Griff, then go heal the other guy, you only get the part about spiking the drink and Griff hating Uthgardts. @#(*@#$ glitch, ah well. |

| | | The barracks are east of the Temple, you mean the mercenary place where they guy hires you to kill the orc bandits? There's never anyone there, except for a generic male and female soldier, who start sparring. Should I stand and wait, or do something else first before the wittness/jurors show up?

As for the trial you do not need to buff your int and wis, expect maybe if you have really low stats on both. My paladin had 10 for int and win an unanimous verdict. All you need is get the real statements from Zeb (after healing his leg) and Lodar (after offering his some drinks). Also you don't have to ask sometimes just watch the torches and swords during the trial and only make questions when needed and about the spiked drinks, Griff's hatred and that Griff always started the fights.

| | | You will need some wisdom to get the insight tagged dialogue after you ask the first witness about spiking the drinks. Not sure if it's needed , but it certainly doens't hurt. Seeing as how you're a paladin, it's not a problem. But for the rest of us, there's a good chance you'll need potion since wisdom is not very useful to most classes. For example, my rogue has base 8 wisdom to match my chaotic neutral personality. |
