| | Retarded Henchman Oh my God Sharwyn is so stupid... I guess it's just a bug, but it's SO annoying!!
I'm a Paladin, and when I engage some melee enemies, she just runs into them and gets killed, instead of staying behind, casting spells and firing arrows... I told her (in tactics) to use ranged weapons, and to stay on medium distance, but when I start slashing my enemies, she storms them and dies...
How do I fix this? |

| | | There exists a community update somewhere which supposedly improves the AI, but I never tried it out.
Mostly - I only used Dealen as a henchmen, because meele henchmen are the ones with less annoyances due to bad AI.
It is however a problem which have plauged NwN (it gets better in SoU and HotU though, but not terrible much so) |

| | I had good luck with Shawyn, but learned a trick. I had her set to use ranged weapons. When I got to a fight, I'm a Ranger/Rogue, she would start to run in sometimes, I pause the game when she is within range of the enemy and order her to Attack Nearest, and she stopped and started firing arrows. I think the problem is the AI doesn't stop the NPC when they get into arrow range. If Sharwyn can't see the enemy at first, she'll run all the way up to or past you until she comes in contact with the enemy. I use pause alot and keep an eye on my NPC and it worked excellent. |

My friend uses a thief (can't remember his name) as a henchmen and he's okay, though he can be pretty stupid at times. I still remember at one time, my friend was fighting against a dragon and even though he didn't fight it, that henchman constantly want to pick a fight with it and asking him to pull back didn't work (even if it did work, he just went straight back to the dragon and fight it). My friend hurled lots of expletives as a result.
I should recommend this to him if I am able to meet him again.
P.S. Thanks for the link, Shrike.
