Ranger and 2-bladed swords

When you get a ranger, he has 2 weapon fighting, and if you get that skill again does it have any affect?Also when using a 2-Bladed sword what feats/skills can yuo get to improve your Thaco

The only effect that I can see is that you are no longer restricted to light armor to make use of the feat.

Reading the PHB it looks like Ambidexterity and Two-weapon fighting would apply to a 2-bladed sword as well. Add to this Weapon focus and you are set to go

I've tried ambidextarity but it doesn't work!

craig, the Player's Handbook says specifically that the "free" ambidexterity and two weapon fighting feats that rangers get at first level DO NOT apply to two-bladed weapons. The PHB only mentions this in the ranger description.

More precisely friends.....the ambidexterity and two-weapon fighting skills of a ranger DO NOT apply to DOUBLE WEAPONS...this includes any single weapon that can be used two handed for double attacks, such as a double sword or quarterstaff or anything else.

Kind of a bummer, but what are you gonna do.
