Question OC -- experience point bug???

hi. i'm playing throught the game for the second time (first time was a while ago). i'm in chapter 3 with a level 3/11 rogue/ranger. i'm playing with the latest patch -- 1.62 or whatever. I use a henchmen. two times in chapter 3 i've killed moderate/difficult monsters and been awarded 0 experience. i first noticed it on a vampire champion guarding layenne's tomb. i finally decided something must be wrong when i killed white fang -- the dragon in the snowglobe and was rewarded with no experience!!! i've only noticed it these two times -- maybe it has happened more... this must be some sort of bug, right? has anyone ever seen anything like this??? thanks for any help/suggestions.

thanks.

I'm seeing that too!!

I've been trying to build my character up, player the game over again, and I'm running into that same problem. It started happening sporadically, (With giving no experience for certain kills), but now it's all the time. I no longer get any experience for ANYthing. I don't know what's wrong.

I'm a level 17 Cleric/3 Sorcerer and my experience is something like 211122, and it says, next level 210000. It won't even give me the next level amount.

Anyone know if there's some kind of experience cap that I could adjust somewhere?

You are hitting the experience cap.
In the original NwN and the SoU expansion there is a level cap of 20.
In HotU the cap has been increased to level 40.

But this dosen't look to be the problem of wneill, as his character is only level 14

Thanks...

Ahhh...gotcha. I was wondering what the heck was going on. Even when I went and learned how to cheat and give myself a ton of XP, it would still say 17/3. (With a ton of actual XP points though.)

Guess I have to get HoU for sure now.

Is there any way to hack in and bypass that cap in SoU?

Remove Cap

Yes, I too was wondering if there is something (similiar to BG2 TOB) that we could download to over ride the cap.

Or a way we can put in the code via the console?

It isn't possible through the console for sure.

But I can't say if there has been a expereince cap remover created though, because I've never gone looking for one.

But for some reason I doubt there is one, especially with the cap being raised (very high) in HotU, but of course - that dosen't mean there isn't one out there.
