NWN Online

I've only got 56K dial-up . . . is there any point to my trying to play online or will it just be an exercise in frustration?

I simply refuse to pay $50 - $60 a month for high-speed access; that is just outrageous, especially with a bazillion miles of dark fiber-optic cable in the ground and phone companies dropping like flies, while wondering why high-speed internet isn't "catching on" more quickly. DOH !

I play all the time online with my 56k modem - never have any big problems - a lot of the bottlenecks can be server side - so you just need to make sure you play on a good server.

I sound like a broken record - but I would suggest the world of Argyle if you like strong roleplaying - it is not a power gamer server - but it is the best roleplaying server out there.

Another good server is the world of Haven - although it is more hack and slash.

If you want more information about Argyle check out the Blades of the Banshee forum on this website.

I can confirm that too, my 56k modem manages online gaming pretty well even though it only hits 31200bps max due to a line problem.
