New, But wondering about Pots

If i drink a potion (not healing), is it only active for a short period of time, or does it remain in my stats forever?

You can see how long the duration of a potion when you read about it. For example:

Potion of Bull's strength

These blood red infusions made from the horns and heart of young bulls,
grant the drinker great physical stength

base item potion
Weight: 0.1
Special properties:
Use Bull's strength (3) single use.

The number (3) tells you that it will last for three rounds.
