Multiclassing in NWN - question

I read on a page that a human's favored class is automatically his/her starting class. But the game states that a human's favored class is the class in which he/she has the most levels in. Which is true of the two?

I just started NWN again so I need some help ^^

Humans (and halfelves) favored class is the class with highest level.
