Long-time listener, first time caller needs help

Is there some reason I am unable to cast spells with my 2/2 fighter/wizard? I am currently playing NWN(for not the first time) and have memorized, rested etc., but the spell icons ie magic missile are greyed out in the spellcasting radial menu. Am I just retarded, or what? Please help me

to cast offensive spells you have to right click on the enemy to bring a radial menu up. the easiest way to cast spells though is to right click on a quick slot and then select the spell. then you just need to click on the icon in the quick menu slot thing and click on the target.
