I've played nwn2 for a little while now (i'm half way through part 2) and i still don't really get what the damage number means (as 2d10 or 6d10 and stuff) i guess the first number is like bigger and the second smaller or something, but what is the d and i still dont get it XD, i know this is probably really nooby, but it would be fun to know for the rest of the game :P

d means dice and is used as a separator between number of dice rolled and the kind of die rolled. So 2d10 means "Roll 2 10-sided dice and add the results". So in that case the damage will range from 2 to 20 with an average of 11.

The "dice stuff" is from the Pen&Paper game where you use d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 and d20 for attacking, saving throws, damage or to determine the result of an action like disarming a trap or swimming in full-plate armour and stuff like that.
