importing characters

On one of the loading screens for BG2:SoA or ToB it tells me I can import my character to Neverwinter Nights and I haven't seen anything on Neverwinter Nights that would let me do that. Was I getting jerked around or am I blind? lol

The main reasons it was cut from the game is the fact that they use different rules.
Where as BG2 uses the 2.ed rules and NwN uses the 3.ed rules. This alone gives problems with stats. In bg2 one where used to the high stats of having many 18s etc, this is not really comparable to the stats in NwN, where 14-16 is the norm.
This would means that a characters stats. can't be carried over.
Also levels couldn't be carried over, seeing as the max in NwN (untill the introduction of epic levels) are 20 - and one came from BG2 with much higher levels.

Futhermore, seeing as you start at level 1, if you were allowed to carry your equiptment over to NwN you would have insanely over powered equiptment for NwN. The items in NwN is a little more "down to earth" then the highlevel "madness" that was thrown at the avatar in BG2+ToB.

So basically - what would have been possible to carry over would have been your name, race, alignment and base class, and then one might as well create a new character.
