| | | I'd love to go back and install the game just to take advantage of the community gaming goodness. But when I built my socket 939 system I installed an ATI X800GTO and unbeknownst to me the X800 card architecture and NWN1 don't play well at all. After a full install the game hangs right as you are about to load the game. There is no patch to correct this and both ATI (now AMD) and Bioware are well aware of this problem that has never been addressed.
I can't even imagine all the great community made games I've missed since uninstalling 3+ years ago. It is one game that more than pays for itself. |

| | | Pretty much the same as Mewp. I'm currently in chapter 2 of the original campaign, Half-Orc Druid6/Barbarian1/Ranger1 (yes I know, xp penalty, boohoo). Going to tackle SoU and HotU after. |

| | | Neverwinter was a great game to play. The campaign was uninterresting, but it was addicting and I just kept playing and loved it. I stil prefer Hotu, it was more a Roleplaying game to me. The NPC became better and I bothered to speak with them, what I didn't do in the original because they all looked so dull. I only took them along for their fighting skills, while in Hotu they were interresting, and I cared about their fate in the final moments of the game.
Someone on this topic said it felt more Hack 'n Slash. The original felt that way to me too, it was at moments trully a hunger for power. But still it's a good game to play for fun, not because it's interresting or anything else.

| | | Well, I just managed to complete it for the first time. Apart from the RIDICULOUS difficulty of the last few battles, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
NWN is so much more than just the campaign it comes with tho. I must admit I purchased it specifically to get into online role playing as tabletop D&D is a thing of the past round here.
I have no intention of buying NWN2 yet. I really need to get a bit more playing under my belt. Any suggestions of where to play online? |

| | | Hello all.
I 've just started playing for the second time. The first time I messed up and had little opportunity to play.
Now I've picked it up again, I'm trying to see it through. |

| | | I still play it regardless or completing it. I love the stories and such, especially how every henchman seems to have a different story too. I've been switch ing recently from Oblivion to Neverwinter... although I do favor Oblivion, Neverwinter is still one of the best games in my eyes. |

| | | I still play it from time to time even now in this year of 2008. I'm currently in the HotU module/expansion. The good thing about the game is that it's easy on modern systems, even on laptops. The graphix are a bit dated, but the character development tools are still very interesting to try out and explore.
NWN2 was and still is a bit of a nightmare to play because of its demanding graphix engine and tricky multiple character control tools. So even though NWN2 has better graphix, NWN1 is easier to work with and doesn't threaten to melt down your computer.

| | | I've just got to my hands NWN Platinum Edition, and finished chapter 1 with a fighter 4/paladin 2-3/ Champion of Torm 2-3. But after getting to the caves i was kind of dissapointed (bored maybe?) with my char and started again with a wizard necromancer to make him the specialized class (pale something). He's currently wiz 4/pale 2.
Cheers! |
