Hi all New here...

Hi there.
I just got the NWN Plat set and I was wondering if I could jump into any of the games OR do I have to play them in order?
Thanks

NWN Main Campaign has a useful tutorial at the start which is worth doing and is bigger than the content of Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark. That's probably the best to start with.

After that play Shadows (SoU) followed by Hordes (HoTU) with a different character all the way through. Both of those add new classes to the game and allow you to place item within a companion's inventory (not in the main campaign).

So just choose a class that you're comfortable with and play from the beginning of the NWN Main Campaign

Technically, you don't have to play them in order. However, the preferred order is going to be main campaign, SoU, and then HoU. There are a couple reasons for this. In the first place, the campaigns are really designed with this progression order. NwN: OC is more 'newbie' friendly, than the two expansions. The most important reason, however, is that there is a sort of story progression that the expansions follow. SoU and HoU share a main character and some story elements. As such, its better to think of them as one game. For that matter, some story elements and NPCs present in the Main campaign are featured in HoU. As such, in HoU you'll see a sort of "conclusion" to the NwN saga (*sort of* being the optimal world).

However, if you're really not wanting to play the OC first, you can probably jump right into SoU and then to HoU without too many repercussions. There will just be a few less surprises in store for you when you do play the first campaign.

You can play in any order you wish, although I'd recommend folloing the "proper" order.

So as suggested by Ravager, play the original NwN first, then SoU with a new character, and then use the SoU character in HotU. It would give the best experience in my view.
