Henchmen can't cast spells!, a bug?

Okay, this is really starting to freak me out, I’m midway trough chapter 2 and I discovered that something’s wrong with all the spell caster henchmen (except Linu, although, Sharwyn was able cast a sound burst occasionally) they can’t cast spells! Well they do start casting a spell as soon as the battle begins, but nothing happens! , and it doesn’t says that the target resisted magic or anything (can’t figure out how a goblin can resist magic), it’s just like they suddenly stop casting the spell.


Does anybody knows what’s wrong, and if possible how to fix it?

Just a guess here, but just like a wizard at low levels, your henchmen's spellcasting can be interrupted if their concentration is broken, for example if they're too close to the actual fight and are being attacked while they're casting the spell.

When you talk to your henchmen, does it give the option to "I'd like you to level up. You'd be more useful (...)" ?
