Hehe another question, mighty this time

This is BG2 all over again,
I just want to finish the game right the first time, and I finally got a character that I find intresting enough to play for more then the beggersnest.

I just bought a bow (compasative +1) and it has +3 mighty, what does this do?

A might bow gives you the ability to add to the attack roll with your strength, depending on how high the enchantment goes. So if your Fighter (for example) has a strength bonus of +4, then on a +3 Mighty bow, he could add a maximum of +3.

Get it?

Yeah get it.
How much extra dame do you depending of you're dex?
I don't know the tables from head, and the manual doesn't have it (how weird it is)

You do no apply any of your Dex bonus to damage rolls.

And a little correction with mighty bows, you add the bonus to your damage rolls and not to your attack rolls.

Oooh then I misunderstood, so a melee weapon benefits from strenght (attack bonus and damge bonus)

A missile weapon from dex (attack bonus)
and a might missile weapon from dex and str.

Correct?
If not, I give up

Yep thats right.

Add strength to melee weapons ONLY. Add strength to mighty ranged weapons up to the maximum.

If your strength bonus is negative, will using a mighty bow actually bring down your damage rolls?

As far as I know, no, it will only affect you if you have a bonus to your strength.

If you have a negative strength modifier you subtract that when using short bows, long bows and slings. Regardless if they are mighty or not
