Gave the drow smith 75,000 to give the intelligent sword acid damage, got a cute little movie but no damage bonus. Bug? Or did I have to do something else?
Sounds like a bug.
Normally - after you get the drow to give it acid damage, it will get a green glow(when equipped), and have the damage listed both when you have it equipped, but it should also be listed when examining the sword.
