| | | Flirting with NPC (most probably some spoilers inside) I don't know if this topic has already been suggested before, but I have some questions to make.
Has ever happened to your character to have some flirt or affaire with NPC? I mean, you can chat and make love to Ophala's dependent in chapter one of the OC; you can flirt with Aribeth or Aarin (and they give you a ring and an amulet) in ch.2 and 3 (and 4, yes).
I usually prefer characters with high charisma (12 is my minimum) even if I don't need it. I often have very high persuasion skill, but I have the feeling that you can have flirts with you henchmen. However even after "pumping up" charisma and persuasion (with eagle splendor and other items) it seems to me that Linu and Sharwen could fall for you. They could but they don't do it. Playing a female character, instead, you never speak about feelings with your male henchmen. Or, it was when I played.
In HotU you have of course the possibility to fall for your henchmen, beginning from the 2nd chapter (I think you can always exclude Deekin) and the part with the "real names" can be really funny. It always happens to me, when playing a male character, that when the Mimic steals my armour Aribeth is quite interested in watching the nakedeness: even if you keep on flirting with her you have almost no improvement in your story.
What are your experiences in flirting with NPC?

| | | Well - Aribeth's situation near the end, becomes easier to solves if you flirt with her.
Other then that - I've never noticed any game-important differences with "flirting" in NwN. Unfortunally the NPCs aren't as complex as in Baldurs Gate 2. |

Maybe the lack of real RPG in this specific aspect is the only bad stuff I found in the whole game. |

| | | Well, the problem is at the end of the game when you expect you'll be able to fall in love with Aribeth and live happilly ever after with her nothing is said or told, but you can find some modules to play that will continue the story from whence it stopped. So yeah, it's all good, unless you have a problem playing un-official mods. You'll be able to have a romance with Aribeth again in Hoards of the Underdark, but it's crap. Since it's not even the same character, and the background of it is also ****ty, and her voice isn't even the same one she had before, not to mention the story behind how you meet her.

| | I have a question too
If I made Aribeth into a blackguard, will fliting still be possible? If so, what changes are there (I'm presuming romance with a lawful evil blackguard will be different than that with a goodie two shoes...)? |

| | Not really different. Basically the same direction of the SINGLE conversation that decides the entire romance (unless of course you're romancing Nathyrra as well...) Quote: |

Lol, you sound just like the traditional Aribeth fanboy . | I take that as a compliment, really, cause she's an amazing woman. At the end of the game all I wanted my character to do was bust open the prison doors, throw the money from being the hero at Nasher's feet and escape with Aribeth in his arms. *swoons* Where they could have love, romance and adventure, and finally, have children... beautiful little half-elves... one would be named Enialis and the other one Meghan. And they'd live in a little village, like Imnesvale, she would turn in her paladin-hood and become a ranger, while my character was the local chief of the guard.

And the fact she thinks about Fenthik can be frustrating... |

| | | You people should go play the numerous Aribeth sequel modules. I think that the former protagonist killed Aribeth, so it wasn't a case of not being able to save her. And I really quite seriously highly disliked Fenthik.

Never the less it's true, I think anyone who mildly cared about Aribeth will be EXTREMELY disapointed of the Aribeth in Hoards of the Underdark. I mean for christ sake, the story they present for her is utter nonsens.

As far as Aribeth's fate is concerned they simply chose a possibility of the OC, but how careless for the passionate players!
Fenthik is definitely a "fregno" (in the variety of Italian spoken in Rome, a jerk, I suppose).

| | | It seems to me that something new has happened. When in the third chapter I listened to Sharwin's tale (about love), I buffed up my charisma and I "told" her: "Only friendship? I was hoping for something more" and she answers something like "let's explore this later". Maybe in the last chat of the last chapter something new will happen: if you're interested I'll make you know. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
