Druid Elemental Shape

Just been reading some interesting stuff on Druids on other threads, but this is a terribly specific question. I am 30th Level Druid, I can shift into elementals, and it puzzled me as why anyone would want to use the Air and Water one when they have far less hit points than the other two (I don't know what damage they can do, maybe that's the advantage). However, both Air and Water have a spell called "Pulse". Goody, I thought, there's the advantage. I experimented with Air....I think it was Air first...., and did myself 75 hitpoints worth of damage (no damage to anyone else). I tried with Water and accidently killed an innocent kobold, whereas my enemies were as lively as ever. Does anyone know what this spell is for? I looked through my SOTU walkthough book, and it has nothing listed under the entry for Elementals. .

I believe Water Elementals have an ability to 'drown' enemies which takes away half of the elemental's HP but has a chance to kill an enemy (when it doesn't save).

Air Elementals have a pulse attack that can knock down nearby enemies I believe.

I don't know how many of these abilities translate over to a druid though.

I suppose it's possible to find more details on the elementals in the Aurora NWN toolset.

I remember "vividly" when fighting monster water elementals in NwN that I sometimes failed a save vs. dead, which drowned my character.
But I don't know either, if these special abilities are passed on to the druid. I've never played a druid in NwN.

Yes, I remember NWN - that one place, two Elementals - my characters died again and again! However, I never noticed them going down in HP's though. Then again, it was probably because I was flat on my back, dead, at the time. Oh well, I guess I need an open space with lots of low level creatures around to see if they die when they are Bad People.

I've noticed it happening with water elemental summons, how annoying it is to see your ally lose half of his hitpoints in an attempt to kill a skeleton or something equally weak .

I've played a druid in NWN before, but not up to 30th level, just through the main campaign I think.

I suppose the saving throw required against drowning increase with the power of the elemental. E.g. higher throws required with Huge Water Elementals than normal ones.

Air Elementals either knockdown or stun their enemies.
