Counter Spells

Hey there .. im new to NWN , and theres one thing I can't work out ... How do counter spells work .. i mean , I have spell craft , and under spells I have the otion to counter spell , but no matter when or where I hit it , nothing happens ... what do I need to do ?

Ok, first you select counter spelling on the mage you want to counter. Evertime he casts a spell, you do a spellcraft check to determine if you recognize it. If you do, you may either A) 'cast' a dispell-magic style spell to prevent it from taking effect, or B) cast any specific counters that spell has to counter it, IIRC with 100% success rate.
