| | Can't stand the silence!! Alright! This is ridiculous. I don't have anything important to say or announce. I'm just tired of the silence on this board, and I declare it broken!

| | Ahh, but spam at least fills the void.
On to something more meaningful. Where do we think we should start? I do think it's important we all start in the same general part of Argyle, if we're eventually to meet and form the guild. It doesn't sound like travelling from one end of Argyle will be too convenient. Or safe, for that matter.

| | I'd have to disagree, Rail. We have been scattered, and at this point and time, the guild is nowhere close to existing (well, maybe it's closer than we would think <shrugs shoulders> ). Somewhere in the chronicles of the Blades, there might be a hint or clue or prophecy as to where our reunification might occur, but at this point and time, few of us know one another. Some might not even know of their ties with the Blades. And I just don't think we would all be in the same area. The adventuring spirit and travels of our ancestors would have probably taken our characters all over the realm. And the fact that they were hunted for years....
But you are correct that we do have certain things to work out. The question is, how much should be done here at the Banshee, and how much should be done in game in Argyle?

| We have covered most things to do with the BotB. If any of you have a question, by all means share it with us.

| What says we have to be related to the old BotB? I don't plan on it being me, but a friend who I'm adventuring with. There is little or no chance that three of us will each learn on our own that we are descendants of the BotB, and that we will also find eachother in our youth. But, if one of us finds out their heritage, the rest of us are simply his/her friends and companions and are willing to adventure with them, eventually we all can become Blades ourselves, once the guild id formed. Thus, several of us can start out together and eventually we all can become Blades. There isn't a rule saying only the direct relations can join the newly formed BotB, is there?
Does this even make sense? It doesn't seem like I'm explaining it too well.
The reason we formed the guild is to adventure together with our GB friends. Doesn't it make sense to start now, rather than wait until we're lvl 6 or higher?

| A very good point - there is no reason IMO that people should be decendence of the original Banshee', and even thouhg I plan on starting alone (to get a better understanding of how Argyle and my character will work) - I plan on quickly (trying) to find somebody to adventure with . |

| | Well, this bring up another question i have. If we stick with the history that our ancestors were chased by demons, and that maybe we still are as well, would we be likely to tell many of our ties to the blades? Would we try to gather followers in our ideals? Are we even still being chased by some dark enemy?
I wonder all this for the purpose of my Argyle character's history and personality. Just questions i'm pondering for roleplaying sake.

Roleplaying wise - and the way I'd most likely do it - was to keep it somewhat quite - at least untill I/we are strong enought to possible twart a demon attack.
No point in running around like a level 1-10 blabbing about being decendens of the Banshee and how though one is (IMO.)
But then again -that is "my way" - I'm also currently planning on a somewhat paranoid CN type character - so this paranoia would come in handy |

With reference to that, my character has clues of the demons attack, but knows nothing that they are demons, check out my new bio: Quote:
Connavar was the son of a simple farmer. When he was young, about 6 summers old, brigands beset his hamlet.
His mother and father told him to run to a local wood. When he returned hours later he found a scene of destruction. The brigands had destroyed his village and his whole family was killed.
He collapsed and was found by a contingent of Paladins of Toran who came to investigate the disturbance. He was raised by one of the Paladins, Jarral Thyran. Connavar took Jarral's name and trade and became a Paladin of Toran, always striving for justice and honour in the name of Toran.
Before Connavar took his final test to become a fully-fledged Paladin Jarral took Connavar to the hamlet he was born in. Viewing the destruction that was caused nearly brought a tear to his eye. The walls were still crumbled and the farmland was sown with salt, stopping the growth of vital crops.
Connavar stopped at what was his house. Jarral came up beside the young, but tall, broad-shouldered man. He took him into the gutted building and left him standing next to a trapdoor, a trapdoor that Connavar never knew existed.
He pulled out his trusty two-handed sword, the sword that was always keen and lethal in his trained hands. He used the hilt of the hefty blade to break the rusty hinges and locks. Connavar threw the door open and descended into the dark cellar. A faint light could be seen behind a wall. He looked and saw a simple push switch to open the door up.
As Connavar opened the door with the button something came over the young man, something that comforted and consoled him. The door, now fully open revealed a small and simple shrine. A bewitched candle glowed brightly illuminating the small recess in the wall. Lain on the shrine was a large two-handed sword, a hammer and a shield. The shield had two crests on it. He knew the first one immediately. It was Toran’s, his God’s holy device. The second was unfamiliar to him. It displayed what appeared to be some form of corporeal spirit with gothic script with words unknown to him. Suddenly the words clarified, “The Blades of the Banshee”. Connavar mouthed the words silently. What did it mean?
He picked up the hammer and it felt warm in his grasp, although he knew how to use the war hammer he would never give up his two-handed sword if he had one in his grasp. Connavar gently lowered the hammer back down and picked up the hefty two-handed sword. It instantly felt right in his hands, it was warm and the blade keener than any he had seen in his life.
The pommel stone was crafted out of a blue jewel and each facet glistened as he looked at it deeply to see a picture of his great grandfather. The other side displayed Toran’s and the unfamiliar crest. He looked at the hammer and the stone embedded in its head and saw his great grandmother. They both were youthful and vibrant in these images.
He smiled at the thought of his great grandparents and he realized then that they were know simple farmers. No wonder the hamlets ill came to his great grandmother for healing, she was a priest of Toran and he knew his father was a Paladin; it was a feeling in his bones.
He knelt and prayed for his parent’s safe deliverance to Toran’s side. He picked up the weapons and shield reverentially and climbed the steep stairs to the light of day. Waiting with the horses was Jarral.
“It was time you knew son, you had a right to know…”
Connavar merely nodded as he placed the weapons in his pack.
They returned to the Orders headquarters and were greeted by the Prelate.
“You have come of age young Connavar, however, your great grandfathers sword was earned. I must take it from you as well as your great grandmothers weapons. You still have to pass your test and your test is this: The crest that you have observed on the shield is one we are unaware of. Your task is to find the source of this and report the meaning to us. We will give you your great grandfathers sword once you have completed your task. Gather your equipment and rations on the ‘morrow. You leave in the morning.”
The Prelate left Jarral and Connavar in the hall.
Jarral looked at his young charge and smiled inwardly. The boy had learned well and tried hard, he was sure of his success in the near future.
Jarral smiled at the boy and beckoned him to the mess. They ate and made merry for tomorrow was Connavar’s final day…
Connavar went into the library of the massive structure and was met by a frail old man, the librarian. He knew the librarian well for it was he who helped him in his struggle with the more difficult lessons. He taught him arithmetic and the written language.
“My boy! I hear it is time for you to leave us. You know, I wasn’t always stuck in here like this, I knew your great grandfather, and he helped me as I have helped you. I… I think he would have wanted you to have this.”
The old man handed a book over.
“It is his history and yet, it points to something else as well. Something no matter how hard I have looked I have been unable to find. I know this is to do with your quest.”
Connavar flicked through the pages and found more references to “The Blades”, he found more pictures of the crest and more references of Toran. There was nothing specific, yet he was drawn to a page near the beginning of the book, written on the inside of the hard cover was a small tenant: “We who are from the academy are sworn to each other.
We search and find, forever looking yet never finding,
The quest will never end, for it is ever binding.
“We who are hunted are rarely found.
Yet those who look are forever bound.
“We who are from the academy are sworn to each other.”
This was truly a mysterious passage, one that wracked Connavar’s mind. Who were the hunters? Who was bound? He flicked through the rest of the book and found small snippets of battles against names unknown to him.
He was deep in thought until he heard a clattering; one of the doors burst open and in rushed one of Connavar’s classmates. His name was Matti Il-Amin and that was all he knew about him.
He was grinning widely carrying a small package of white powder and was chased by three of the other classmates scratching their backs furiously.
Connavar tried to dodge out of the way but Matti just clipped Connavar’s scabbard and they both tumbled over. The three others grabbed Matti but Connavar pushed them all away. He knew Matti would be beaten by the three if he let them have him but Connavar was a big lad and could handle them easily with Matti’s help.
Suddenly the other doors burst open and in walked in the Prelate with a Priest unknown to Connavar.
The Prelate’s voice boomed outwards.
“What is going on here?”
The unknown Priest silenced the Prelate and walked up to Matti and Connavar.
“Ah young Matti, I was just checking up on you, all is well I hope?”
“Yes sir, everything is fine, Connavar was just helping me with my ‘physical training’”
“Good, as long as that was all it was” said the Priest, “You three may leave…”
They grumbled but left accordingly.
“Now we have some privacy I have something to talk to you about” began the Priest, “it seems some of the others in the school dislike your ‘creativity’ and ‘youthful spirit’ and that is why I hope you knew Connavar.”
“I wish you to go with Connavar,” continued the Prelate, “You know your lessons and you are ready to go out into the field. It is your time. Prepare your gear, you leave tomorrow.”
“Good luck my son!” The Priest and Prelate left.
“Well, it looks like we are going to go together, I’d best pack, if you wouldn’t mind, could you come with me? I have a feeling that there may be some reprisals…”
Connavar nodded but saw something out of the corner of his eye, something that glinted. It was a simple necklace with a small crest on it. It had Toran’s on one side and the Blades of the Banshee on the other. It must have fallen out of the book…
Connavar pocketed it and followed Matti.
They left the following morning with the sun on their backs and a full pack of rations with them. So began their quest…
| As you can see, the rhyme/tenant reveals some of his dangerous past, but not enough to say run like hell! You have a demon after you.
