a question of henchmen

do henchmen get a share of the experience as they have been getting in BG, BG2, IWD, PS:T, etc, or does the main character get all the booty? thanx in advance.

Henchmen gain levels when you do--if they're below your level, you just speak to them about experience. If you leave a henchman and later re-hire them (no extra charge), you can up their experience once more. I just wish you had some choice in their skills and feats, and also in the deployment of those that aren't automatic.

1. step in the "future" patch of Henchmen.. would be to make the just a tad bit more smart.. Mine is the bard, not but because of certain obvious male interrest's , but because I like having abit of crowd control and someone who can fight. Plus my barbaric rage + song is pretty sweet... but on to the point...

After resting, the first time you meet an enemy, she will start to cast everything she's got.. you name it. Even if the mob is immuen to it. Not once will she start hitting/shooting before every spell is wasted. This drives me nut's some times. This mean's alot of resting and alot of solo fighting. For my next character, im gonna make a healer type and get that barbarian as my side kick.

Precisely my main problem with the game as it is: poor henchman AI. (Well, pathing AI isn't exactly that great, either.) If I can't control the actions of a henchman, then they damn well better be up to the task of controlling their own skills properly in battle--such is my opinion; and as yet, I haven't seen this.

the way they choose there own sills n suck is realistic because they are there own person, and this the why i think they bugger about so much

the problem is that is this more fun for the player?

and some of the clever people out there will fix the AI weather it is on an official patch or some of the talented people working hard to please

the henchmen remined me Fallout, ahh the memories

"Ian why did you burst fire while right behind me?"

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

I agree that the henchmen AI is frustrating. It seems that the AI could be fixed and I hope that it is.

I just had to chime in and say - don't forget this game is meant for mutiplayer with other humans. Bioware added a single player element so that folks could experience the game themselves before going online with friends. I don't think they put a large part of their development time into the single player portion. As it is this game was over 3 years in development. Lets hope that the multiplayer part is everything we hoped for. If it is then henchmen AI will be much less of a worry>
