Never fear, Outlawtorn will help you.
ok, from my guess, two handed is somewhat like, dual wield. The more spec points in it the more efficient at it you are. Don't get efficient crossed with deadly. The more points you have in it allow you to swing it with more chances to hit. Instead of having say a 25% chance to miss, you spec in it and lower the percentage to 10% or so. ( fictional numbers)
Now for damage out put, you have to spec in a damage type. ie slash crush or pierce. The damage type is the determination of how much damage is put out. If you didn't spec much in crush, then that is why your hammers aren't doing as much damage in combat as say your swords.
It is a constant juggle between a skill and two handed, my suggestion is spec in only one skill and two handed. Stick with the skill that you would use the most slash/crush. Right now as my Ranger is concerned, I am spec'cing in pierce and celtic duel. that way i do much more damage with my pigstickers and swing them both more often.
I know how it is to not do as much damage in battle, lol but for me I find out only when i try some yellow, where i really need the extra damage
hope this helped
