middle ages
today

(least violence if its set today( NO MAFIA ))

Runescape and fun should never be in the same sentance, unless sperated by the phrase "is not", because runescape isn't fun at all...but I cant think of anything else that fits the description.

I don't think there are any games that fit that description aside from Runescape. Most of the free MMORPGs are ones that you need to download.

and yes runescape is the only game that i know of thats like that there is battle on and dragonfable but there not multiplayer

Pox Nora is a free browser based mmo.Theirs also guild wars(you said an mmo you didnt need to download this you have to buy)City of Heroes is decent but the charge you like 15 usd per month the only mmos you dont have to download you have to buy the only things close to non download is probably Adventure Quest,Dragon Fable,and Mech Quest but they arent realy mmo more of browser based Pox Nora you have to download a small file nothing huge but yeah.Theirs also Pokemon Crater with basic gba interface but its on your browser and if you arent into pokemon then try Pox Nora.

he is true most good mmorpg's have to be downloaded but i know 1 called kingdom of loathing ....it keeps me busy for anyone that says it stinks

DOMO (Aeria Games) is pretty cool and its free to play.
I tried it out cause I was interested to see the cartoon shader look on the 3D models. Looks really cute! *Thumbs Up*
