Does anyone know if they are going to come out with a non PTP (Pay to Play) Galaxies game.

i used to wonder that myself....
however, this is not likeley to happen.publisher for the game is Sony Ent(these kinda tech giants dont just throw away franchise money),developer LucasArts (when was anything with biG L stamped on it free?) the second expansion is on the way (out already?), and the comunity is growing.
in our country there is a saying....something about keeping the chicken with golden eggs

still....12$ a month aint that much....

Is the first month free and can you use as many time cards as you want?
How much does a star destroyer cost?
How hard is it to become a Jedi?
Please tell me because I'm debating on wether or not to get the game.

- The first month is free
-dont know bout the time cards and destroyer (for space fights & ships u have to get the 'Jump to Lightspeed' expansion...and i think u get another free month with it)
-most people in the comunity say a jedi padawan is worth atleast 8-10 months of intense playing,and the prize is...well....something like blade runner syndrome - u do become more powerfull than in any other proffesion, but if u die u have to start from the beggining (wich is not the case for other proffesions).the period extends however, since u can set out in any of the apprentice-master proffesions (about two dozen of them), each with its own 4by4 skill tree,and connected to another.and all of the acquiered skills can be surrendered at any time to try something else.so i would say....a year of playing for a jedi.

(this counts only if u have good friends on high places in game...)

Thanks. If you can just tell me what the best profession is that would be nice cuz I'm thinking medic or weapons smith. By the way when you say that if you die as a jedi and have to start all over do you mean start back as padawan cuz thats gay.

Yes I know that you have to have the expansion for the destroyer which is why I plan on getting the Total Experience package this weekend.

Plus a game card.

yea sorry i was actualy grumping coz i dont have it

any jedi rank,when dead, degrades below jedi (millions of exp points)

combination of medic and brawler (close combat) or a master marksman (rifles and such) is the path many choose...combat medic profeSSion (double s...jeez i knew it

) is a good ticket for group joining.. dont know about the weaponsmith (ive seen artisan and such)

the marksman is the easiest way to start...atleast for me.long range combat fends of enemies before they get 2 close.brawler profession tends to fill your exp points abit faster,i guess,but mostly its a simple matter of choice wether u wanna shoot or kick.
....i havent played it more then 2 months anyway (full stop now....gotta renew my credit card...mrf!) so somebody with longer experience could explain it better,and the game itself is noob oriented from the start,so u learn from that and ingame players.
my perspective is strictly from the original game, no expansions.

Would it prolly be better to play without the updates cuz of all the lag I hear about?

Do you mean that you are no longer a Jedi if you get killed?

yup.no longer a jedi.

the game starts from a station that patches automatically, and then lets u get in...the patches come out verry frequently...(i got the game in february 2004, but started this year,so before i could play the station downloaded a year worth of about 150 megs of patches

)
Im used to a bit of lag coz im using adsl connecton 384dl/64ul,but since the fights are turn based it doesnt bother me.i suppose it depends on servers.european ones are not that crowded.

I have couple Q:

Q:Min and recommended configuration for playing this game, also connection (modem,ISDN,ADSL,cabel...).

Q:When i buy game do i buy card every month to play game or what?

Q:How many caracters can i create, and whats going on if i die in a game?

Well i dont remember all the specs but NOW the min RAM is 512MB and the rec. is 1024MB.

You dont have to buy a card every month if you are paying for it with a credit card. Time cards are if you dont use a credit card and they last 2 months and cost $30.

Per each galaxy(server) you can have 2 characters. and there are a lot of servers.
