Post SORCERER/ENCHANTER

As of lvl 10 for a sorcerer I would like to comment for those EQ players who are attempting to make what was a chanter for crowd control.

1) there is no assist button for melee, therefore staying on the same mob is tough with lots of mobs.

2) Don't ask me why but, mez works ONCE. Any further attempt in mezzing or continued mezzing is ineffective, they still come at you. Therefore, area mez, breaks and you die if a tank can't pull em off ya. So we become and evac class. Bad pull, area mez and sprint! Sorry not what i signed up for.

3) there is no magic resistance spell, that i can see, to help on resists. You can keep trying but there does not seem to be any improvement in landing a mez for a higher lvl mob.

So, to help those in the EQ arena understand some of DAoC, the EQ chanter does not exist. conitinued crowd control is not an option.

Not sure why mez spells are not effective after the first one, but at the present date they have no effect a second time, this is after the time out on the spell. You can not reapply mez as in EQ, because you are told the mob haas such an effect. I have tried this on lvl 1 mobs, Root and mez just don't work a second time? Seems odd to me, other casters get to use the same spell again. How would Wizards like one nuke from a spell, use second one and some kind of resistance builds in the animal and you do no damage.

I am not saying it is better in the EQ game, just letting possible players understand what to expect. I would hope that Mythic would fix it, but thats my opinion. I may not continue with this char for this reason.

Actually, a lot of the things you have stated are inaccurate.

There is an assist button but like most things in DAoC you have to create them. /macro /assist <tanks name> will created an icon stuck to your mouse cursor. Then just place it on a hotkey (1-8)

Mez does work multiple times but there is a limit to the number of times you can recast it. I'm not sure of the exact mechanics but you may have to wait for it to wear off before you can recast it. Then (if it works like stuns) the recast is shorter duration until you can no longer re-mez.

I'm 95% sure there is a lower magic resistance spell, you probably have yet to recieve it.

On top of all that, Sorcerers can charm some insanely powerful pets.

Just thought you would like to know that the Sorcerer is a very good class.

Exclamation

As far as resists go, I have not seen a spell for directly affecting mob resistance. HOWEVER.. your SPEC is a huge factor. I have seen Sorcs that can't mez orange and red stuff because they haven't specced in mind. However my friend specced all in mind and he can multiple times mez (not more than 3 times) purple mobs 8-9 levels above him.
