New to DAoC, need advice.

Like the title said, im new to DAoC and like very much what i´ve seen sofar
from the game. It might not be the most beautiful game, but it does make one
wanna play "one more hour"...

So i decided i wanted to make a champion since i heard they uses Debuffs to
weaken and defeat their enemies, but when i had reached lvl 8, i found out
that the race i had picked (Firbolg) could not become champions.
So i ended up training towards Heroclass. Atm im lvl24 with maxed skill in
Celtic Spear, 8 points in Blunt(for taunt) and 17 points in shields.

My friends have now started to request my precense at something called
battlegrounds, but my problem is that my gear is mostly "grey" or "green"
which according to my friends meens that i need much better gear.

I went into the capital "TNN" and almost had a laugh at "the best spear"
that they had to offer me, it was worse then my mace.

So where can i get gear sufficent enough to keep me alive and let me kill
ppl in battlegrounds without having to stab them with "a thousand needles".


I have already decided to keep maxing out my Celtic Spear & shield, then
put the remaining points into parry. Also, which skills would you recommend
that i put points into when using "Realm points", im very tempted in the
skills which makes me do even more dmg, thou... the HP skill looks nice to.
