Angry Mythic has some game dynamic issues that needs fixing

This a mild rant about some in-game issues for DAoC. Anyone know where I can go to post this so mythic can read it?

First issue: Striking distance. I am 100% positive that everyone has had this happen to them. You pick a fight with a npc creature, and you all of a sudden realize the battle isn't going your way. So you turn 180, press sprint and start to run away, but your still getting hit. You swing your camera angle around and see that the thing chasing you is atleast 10 paces away, but its still hitting you. HOW????

I mean when your attacking something, you have to practically be ontop of it to melee it. And if your chasing something thats running from you, you have to get directly behind it to hit it. But yet this thing chasing you can hit you when its not even remotely close to you? In my opinion this should be atleast looked at by mythic. Its just not fair to have to die that way. If real life were like that, I could steal money from a bank just by standing outside the walls. Yeah I know this isn't real life, its just a game. But some in-game dynamics are just not right.

Second Issue: This happened to me this morning. I was in Albion by West Downs fighting the Carrion drakes. I fire at one, killed it, but his buddy came after me. So I decided to run over to the guard tower. Akkk! no guards (???), ok don't panic, I'll just climb the 3 flights of ladders to the top. There is no way those things can climb 3 sets of ladders right? Wrong.

Up they went after me. By this time I have no endurance left and very little health. So in a desperate attempt I rationalized that "I should jump off, when I hit the ground, I'll be at about 1 health, and the Carrion drake should get hurt really bad too. So as soon as I land, I'll quick cast my fireball and smoke his sorry ass."

Can someone make me some armor out of carrion drake scales? Cause when he landed, he wasn't even bruised. Not a drop of health came off of him. He walked over to me and handed me my ass on a platter. Then the guards showed up and killed him. (they must have been chasing those nasty butterflies)

3rd Issue: When your say... about 5% health you move very slowly right? And the same thing happens to an NPC creature when he's coming close to you and he's only say about 5% health. This is fine, the dynamics are working perfectly. But say you decide that you want to run away from him. So you run away, he chases you, and lets say someone passing by heals you so you can move at normal speed. Then you decide to turn around and go after the npc that was chasing you, but by this time it has stopped chasing you and returns to where it was, the dynamics are still working perfectly up to this point. So you go back to the same spot, and start to approach the same NPC. Everyone with me so far? Heres where it screws up. By now the NPC is at about 7-8% health, and when HE decideds to run away from YOU, it can move at normal speed. Why??? NOTE: This will only occur under these circumstances (the heal doesn't matter) so please noone tell me I'm full of shyte, as I have seen this happen millions of times. Everyone reading this has seen it. It happens. Everytime you get about 50 paces close it will turn around and run, come back, turn around and run, come back, turn around and run, come back, and then it will start after you again. Do they have sprint too?

I know I'm ranting and raving about this, but its just frustrating to see these things happen over and over. Just wish they would fix it. I know somepeople will say it never happend to them, well your one of the lucky ones, but its happened to me and it makes me want to deep-fry my monitor.

Well I must say I agree completely.
The hitting range of mobs is simply extreem - they can hit you from very far away when they chase you, and it is very annoying to be hit like this(and most often die from it) - when you infact you distance wise, should have gotten away.

The second I've not had happen to me, but - yes - it sounds wierd that there is only fall dam. on PC and not mobs.

The third is also truly annoying - and imo also very wierd that the mob knows what your max range is. I've tried this with a hunter and a runemaster - and all times it just stays right outside your range.
And the fact that it can flee faster than charge you - seems buggy.

So yes - I'd like to see these things fixed

Very good points. I too have experienced the mob running away thing. I play a ranger so i have the ability to stealth, I make sure to get close enough to the mob so that if i do nock an arrow i can shoot it before it leaves my range.

Hmm, the name of drake implies to me a dragon, dragons have wings............ Maybe the drake "flew" down and killed you j/k That is very annoying.

I use the /stick command to help when in a large group, it is amazing, you are always withing striking distance. Maybe the monsters have a sort of /stick command. I've seen it happen also, maybe the mobs are throwing rocks instead of swinging to hit you These are very good points.

You can try the herald and email sanya directly. Don't think she'll respond directly back, but she'll bring up the issues to the dev. team. Maybe something will get done about it.
