Talk about unhelpful (and stupid). That GM deserves to be given the boot.

Well, I*m not that sure. There have to be rules and regulations, cause if they [GMs] start just banning random people on a "whim" or suspension, then all hell will break loose.

And while I truely despise gold selling companies in MMO, I despies the people who buy even more. IMO it is always the fault of the buyer more so then the seller, because the seller only fulfills a demand, whereas the buyer creates it. Thus I can understand why the GMs are strict about soliciting gold buying.

It isn't clearcut and the situation depicted is just one stand alone situation taken out of context, so *meh* - can't really blame the GM much.

But still, I doubt the individual really wanted to buy gil because if he did, he could have just accepted the deal and not report it to a GM, right? From my understanding, this individual did the right thing by reporting the suspect 'gil-seller' to a GM but instead, have to be banned by the GM together with the suspect should the investigation commence. How is that fair?

DOn't they have screening processes before making a person a GM? Wouldn't he or she need to at least a semblance of common sense?

Then again, the GM could have merely misunderstood the entire situation.

Quite right the player clearly tried to get the seller to implicate himself then report him but in doing so the GM decided he had tried to buy the gold (gil whatever) so was just as guilty! That was quite amusing actually

I too despise gold sellers. It's upto the person who's buying I suppose. Personally unless I made the cash myself I'd feel cheated to have it. Of course if there weren't people willing to buy then the gold sellers would be out of a job

It's the age old fact of supply and demand. Though in this case, the GM should have been more understanding and not jump to conclusions just as he did.

Arent GMs usually payed people who do this for a living ?

The policy to banish people for 3 days just for reporting goldsellers does really not sound like a commercial game... more like another one of these private servers with a very clueless administration.
