How big is the world in comparison to EQ?
The realms are fairly large, but not comparable to EQ as of yet considering how new the game is. I'm sure with time and success, an expansion would be created to enlarge the realms.
How do you "loot" (common EQ term) something?
As said, looting a bag on the ground is done by targeting it with your cursor or pressing F7, then hitting g to pick it up. Autoloot divides coin equally amongst members of the group, and items randomly will go to members. However, non-sellable trash tends to be sorted by individual discretion. If you drop an item on the ground, no one else can pick it up. If you kill a mob, and leave the item on the ground no one can pick it up also. I'm not sure on the rotting time for items left on the ground.
Is there about the same, close to, even more, ect. items in DAoC as EQ(weapons/armor, not so much pointless ones)?
Weapons and Armor definitely different than those in EQ. Like EQ however, you have a weapon skill and can use that weapon. Spear, Stave, Hammer, Sword, etc. Armor varies with your class. Not everyone can use Chain, Cloth, Leather, Studded, etc and your level also decides which variation of armor you can wear most of the time. Runemasters can wear Cloth, Healers can wear Leather then Studded at 10 and Chain at 20.
Is there about the same, close to,... you get the point, monsters?
The spawn time on mobs is a lot nicer than in EQ for the most part. Same with quest and rare mobs, and it's more frequently you see those than in EQ. If you watch someone kill your quest mob, you can be sure to find it spawn within another 15-30 minutes easy. Another nice thing about quest mobs is that you can group with up to 8 people and kill the mob together and each person in the group receives the piece rather than just a single person. The mob design is nicely done in that the models are varied. A nice thing about them is that not all mobs are grouped or single pulls. So if you pull a grouped mob, one or more will add and you get a bonus of X amount added to your total experience gain. Mob faction works on neutral (non-aggro), hostile (doesn't like you but won't aggro), and aggressive (aggro). Some mobs, or most, when charmed will have a "friendly" faction con. The color you con from a mob varies. If grey, too low, you won't receive loot from it unless it's for a quest.
I read that to get your "constitution" back from dying, you have to get a certain type of spell cast on you. Who casts these spells and at what lvl?
To receive your constitution back you either pay a [Healer] NPC after releasing, or you don't release and have a Healer/Shaman(Midgard class, not sure what Albion/Hib are) res you. I believe at level 10 a Healer gets their first res, and better resses come with advancements in their Mending specialization.
WTF are these special "ability" move thingamajiggers like "puncture" and stuff?
Not sure how special abilities work. I know "Puncture Artery" for Shadowblade is when they stealth in front of a mob, use the ability and deal dmg. I believe the mob will give a message "XXXmob is bleeding" or something. Can't give a better answer seeing that I've only played a Healer and Druid.
What's up with the money system? I get the whole copper, silver, gold, platinum, but what is the M that I see at the end of the line in screen shots? What is the equivalent of 1pp in gp/sp/cp? Is it 10 like EQ or 100 or what?
M is for Mithril. It's like Platinum in EQ. 100 CP = 1 SP; 100 SP = 1 GP; 1000 GP = 1 Mithril. I believe that is how that is set up.
What is the highest lvl?
50 - like EQ before Kunark.
I saw a screen shot that showed a fight going on. In the text it said that soandso attacked with his staff and hit. Does it ever tell the damage dealt?
Yes it should tell you the dmg is dealt provided you have that option selected to be on in your chat boxes. Did you know Healers can get Critical hits like Warriors in EQ?
What's up with weapon stats? I looked at some weapons here and I'm not sure how the "speed" thing works. Is it high speed is good or low? In EQ it's not speed, it's delay and low is good.
Not sure either. You also will want a weapon that is yellow-orange con to your character. Blue is alright but it's about time to get a new one. You don't want to use grey, and red and purples will degrade quickly despite them being a higher con.
What about armor stats? They have a few of them. One thing has a number rating and another has a percent rating. What's up with that?
+# is raw points, and +X% is a percentage that it benefits you. I'm not sure how the %s work yet.
How hard is it to lvl?
It depends how you play, and what. Some classes can't solo yellows and others can solo reds (Druids w/ pets if you're smart)
Well, I gotta leave work :b
