A little comparison if you can

Hopefully I can get some insight here. I'm just starting to look at these massive RPG games (I know, just a little behind the times).

Anyway, bought WoW yesterday, playing it on the 10 day free pass right now and I like it thusfar. I went back by Best Buy today to check a few things out and saw Guild Wars was pretty reasonably priced. I also noticed that the playing service was free. That's a bit of a concern since you normally "get what you pay for".

However, since I travel extensively with my job and am not sure how much time I'll have to play, I was liking the "free" thing over $14/mo when I may not be able to play enough to get my money's worth in WoW. Has anyone played GW and what do you think about it when compared to WoW?

The thing that came to mind:
While in World of warcraft you can encounter other people everywhere, inside cities and outside on the fields.
In GW you only meet others inside cities. There you form a group to venture outside the city to do quests and whatnot. However when outside you can not meet others, your on your own server so to speek.

I don't play either GuildWars or World of Warcraft but I was thinking in exactly the same way as you. Why get a game that requires you to pay a subscription fee when you don't have the time to play it that often? Would be a waste of money if you ask me. In my opinion, Guild Wars would be a much better choice as there is no subscription fee to worry about.

As for whether GuildWars is good or not, I'll leave that up to those who played it.
