I've read almost everything here and my decision is for not to buy it.
The combat system alone is sufficient to let me down, i expected better by Black Isle.
They're turning to real time just to earn more money 'cause the target is wider but they're forgettin who made them great and wealthy: us, the hc rpger.

Soon there won't be any real crpg game but just a massive bunch of rt hack and slash in a fantasy style pretending to be crpg (argh).

Hell, i won't be supporting anymore those putting D&D, Wizards of the Coast and such on their boxes while delivering cheesy crap.

My 2 cents, flame away.

No flames, and none allowed on this board, anyway. But I think the devs of Lionheart (who had never done an RPG before, BTW) simply proceeded stubbornly down a path that they were warned about for over a year: if you stick two very different games, a heavyduty RPG and a Diablo-style action title, right next to one another, you're going to displease everybody with the sudden change. This also ignores the missing features (like a lack of automapping, and moving to point) which so annoyed many players. After all the hype, Lionheart proved (for me, at least) a failure, and I'm only surprised BIS didn't see it coming.

I AM DISAPPOINTED. the RPG market is as dead as BBG (before Baldur's Gate)

There were some happy days, where one just couldn't wait for, first TotSC, then BG2 and ToB and now? NOTHING!!

What has happened? I think i have to borrow PS:T...
Where is my much missed BG3?
Where is my much beloved BG3?

Ive tried both Morrowind and Lionheart but none of them could satisfy my lust fot good RPGs...

I WANT MY RPG!

Dead? The RPG market isn't dead. Three major titles were due out this year. Compare that to the group of 3-4 years that preceded BG1, when there wasn't a single major RPG release, and RPG devs were talking about producing "RPG lites" to appeal to a broader audience. (Sirtech actually made a game like this. It flopped, miserably.)

It just happens that one of the titles was a dud because the devs knew better than their intended audience, while the second presents an excellent framework for a future game, but lacks the game, itself. The third, KotoR, should please a lot of RPG fans, though it appeals to a younger, more BG1 player type than, say, PS:T or BG2. Problematic games didn't mean that a great deal of money isn't being poured into this game genre: far from it.
