Angry Really annoying bug

OK..... I have a big problem...... Basically I talked to Esteban outside the city and got all his quests before talking to lord Javier about him for the Templar faction but I never actually did the quests. Now I've done all three quests but when I return to Javier at the cathedral there is no dialogue option to say you've done it !! I know that you have to complete a major faction series of quests to advance properly in the game so this means I am stuck! I really have no interest in reloading an old save game and doing everything all over again but nor do I want to abandon the game before I've seen it through. So, anyone have any ideas what I could do to bypass this stupid bug? Is there any way to access the console or something like that? Thanks in advance.....

Pretty obvious, but have you installed the patch?

Well, then my advice boils down to "re-install." If that fails, reload that old save. It's still better than nothing. It's quite certainly a bug, because I have done exactly what you have done and I did get an option to tell about it.
You might want to try, as a last-ditch attempt, to go talk to the guy at the crossroads, and then go back to Lord Javier.
