Questions before buying

I am thinking of buying this game from what I read but I have a few questions first. It said in the FAQ that the game has 3D characters and 2D backrounds, so does it look like Diablo 2 or what? And can hand-to-hand combat get fairly strong and worth not using weapons or is hand-to-hand just a bad idea? And if you use alot of traits that make people like you less will it take away some quests?

pretty much like diablo in game play, hand to hand is pretty much the best melee character there is.. there are many perks that raise hand to hand dmg and as u put points into unarmed combat ur hand to hand dmg increases

u can only choose 1 racial traits, as long as u put points into speech ull be able to do pretty much everything.. "except" maybe 1 quests (that is worth nothing anyway) where u have to be feralkin or have 7 perception.. racial traits suck anyway (except for vampiric fury )(life leach)

Just a query if you guys know the answer; does unarmed attack at a faster rate with/without shields ? Or does it not matter...

Unless you see less AP with your shield on then off you should be ok. But when I build a brawler I don't use shields at all, it just doesn't seem right to have a fist fighter with a shield.

Oh.. i see, how bout if you are a spellcaster with a shield? Should you use brawling

no.. u would use a staff

So if i want to play as a spellcaster, i should have a shield together with a staff right... Any recommendations for staffs to use?
