Talking Here we go...(spoilers?)

Starting Lionheart tonight. I'm just experimenting with the various races and statistics, so if any of the veterans here feel they want to share a few pointers with me, please do.

Just do whatever you think is good for you. I didnt finf the game to difficult, and most of the fights you cant manage you can do later in the game.

I would recommand to specialize and dont distribute your skillpoints to much over different skills.

Thanks

Thank you. I've started playing, and though I get a strange feeling that I'm playing a souped-up Diablo, as a history buff I'm enjoying myself. Went for the Feral race, since I've got the feeling combat is what it's mostly about. It sure ain't Fallout Fantasy like I was told, but I'm starting to get involved a bit.

Any thoughts on what's better, melee or ranged weapons?

I prefere massive melee damage, and spells for range.
But i heared that rangedamage can become a realy killer if properly used

I'll try it out. I've always fancied ranged combat. Though how I'll ever afford decent weapons is beyond me at the moment...

From my experience, an archer character is the way to go. Just be sure to check the readme file for perk requirements. The manual has quite a few of them wrong.

Thank you. That was usefull. *sigh* What to choose... Someone told me a brute of a fighter with a bit of lockpicking skill was all I needed in the game...

Ooooookay, now I've restarted this thing for the 3rd time, and I'm finally getting the hang of it. So now for the big question: Which group do I join? I'm doing quests for the Order of Saladin and the Thieves Guild, but what then? I realise the Inquisition are slime, and since I'm a feral that would be pretty poor roleplaying, so that leaves the rest of them. Any thoughts or hints?

Choose what you want, but from a rollplaying perspective i would go for the wielders

I like the Inquisition bonus the best. But if you're avoiding them then it's probably Wielders next.

The Beggars give a better reward than the Thieves btw.

Well, I went with the thieves because it suits my character. I must say I'm a bit perplexed. I've done a lot of odd quests, even killed an admiral, but I don't seem to get any clues about what's going on. Also, it's really sad to have to pick between a powerhouse fighter and a diplomat/rogue because the lines and xp are so tight. Apart from that, I'm really enjoying myself.
